Atlanta welcomed PJ Morton and his Walk Alone Campaign to an intimate event at Paschal's Restaurant on November 20, 2009. The Dove, Stellar, and Grammy Award- winning artist embarked on this campaign as a promotional tour to personally acquaint himself with his fans, as well as bring awareness to his new project of the same name. Walk Alone will release in stores and online on February 9, 2010. The upscale, yet welcoming, event was attended by fans, business owners, as well as fellow industry friends like Rahbi, The Hipnotiks, LiLi Wilson, and Jo Jo Martin.
The Walk Alone Campaign has chapters not only in Atlanta, but nationwide, and has included stops in Chicago, New Orleans and Birmingham. The companies that comprise the Team ATL chapter are Stage Ready, which serves as lead, I'm Queen Royalty Productions, Ashley Renee Entertainment, and RareJem. Given the chance to make their own personal staple on Atlanta, the event was penned The ATL ReMixer. The organizers used rich reds and blacks to give a sexy and elegant feel to the evening. Supporters had the chance to leave a personal message, along with an open floor for any questions. The night also included a listening session which demonstrated the need he sees for "that live band feel" to come back to music.
Following the event, PJ made sure to leave a special message for his Atlanta supporters, "Atlanta, I want to thank you all for coming out and supporting me. I realize I can't do this without you! I hope you continue to help me spread this love thru music."
The New Year is quickly approaching and undoubtedly, that means new music. Join the journey of continued discovery of lyrics with message and meaning. In an age where catchy tracks seem to be winning the race, PJ Morton and Team ATL definitely aren't afraid to "Walk Alone."
